Reversing received inventory from a purchase order
In the case that you just entered a duplicate purchase order (due to the inability to search for reference numbers in the PO section) and you received duplicate inventory - please add a feature to reverse or delete that duplicate PO and reverse, or pull out, the duplicate inventory that was received by mistake. Doing a vendor refund is way too time consuming for large PO's.
Thank you.
Gift Card changes
You took a beautiful simple item and complicated it. I used to be able to print a list of outstanding gift cards complete with gift card number, customer name and amount remaining. Now, in order to have the same list I have to print out the active list and click on each customer number in order to see the name attached and hand write it on my list. Or to find a balance remaining on a gift card (keep in mind a customer may have more than one!) I have to search the customer, look through the sales to her, copy a gift card number, return to the gift card list and paste the gift card number in search and finally see the balance. Seriously? Who's make work project was this?
Also, not attaching a customer name to a gift card is ridiculous. What if that card is lost? How will you honor your customers card when they come in and say they lost it? Oh well? Too bad for you? I was told this was so they could be given as gifts. Yes, that what a gift card is. And they can be given as a gift even with a name attached. In fact, I generally attach the name of the recipient.
Push eCom Images Over To Retail
I know that when we add images to Retail that they auto-push to eCom, but I would like to also have the images added to eCom push back to Retail as well. If only the default image.
Re: Major Deficiencies as OnSite Customer migrating to Retail
@gregarican Your point is well taken re: MerchantOS acquisition. However, I think that the frustration which has been expressed most vocally over the past few months has resulted largely by those of us who were successfully running OnSite, and were sold on the idea of moving to LSR because it was "the cloud version" of the software we had built our businesses on.
It is disconcerting to hear that you've been on the platform for 8 years and not seen substantive updates. I would certainly think that given that length of time, the team which did such a great job with OnSite could work to improve the functionality of LSR and re-introduce many of the features we've come to rely on. They've done it once, which begs the question, why haven't they done it again.
I think it's fair to say those of us commenting do so not to unnecessarily bash the LSR team, but to express our frustrations with the hope that they will be addressed, improving the product, and keeping us using the platform. But to the point @TcNursery and @bluematchbox have made, continuing to use a software which hinders the success of our business is not sustainable, and if the software can't change, they must find something that helps them remain thriving and growing.
I for one sincerely hope that the promises being made by LSR support members are genuine, and that improvements are coming (sooner rather than later).
Re: Partially Received PO's - should post a bill to Quickbooks
add me to this list. Receiving partial shipments is the name of the game for me. I also have multiple invoices per order thanks to differing discounts so 1 PO could potentially be broken into 9 seperate PO's by the time Im done. So much wasted time, room for error, and a major headache when you need to examine history for things like warranty dates and vendor returns or god help you.....forecasting purchases.
Re: Partially Received PO's - should post a bill to Quickbooks
We'd also like a solution to the PO backorder nightmare. Creating a new PO may seem to work, but it does not. It not only opens the door for human error with deleting and duplicating, but it is also extremely time consuming and a waste of payroll dollars when it seems a fix on the software side is needed and has been requested by so many Lightspeed users for a very long time. We've got to be able to receive partial shipments and balance those partial shipments with accounting, without having to duplicate efforts every time. Do we have any timeframe for when this fix will come?
Feature Request: Line item counts
I would like to see line numbers or quantity totals on the sales screen. That way, if I am ringing up a customer. And I'm doing so in a hurry. I can count how many items the person has and quickly compare it to on screen. Now I have to count each line on the screen to double check and make sure I rang up all items. Or all items rang up properly.
RETAIL MISSING THE MOST BASIC REPORT - SALES BY VENDOR BY DESCRIPTION
I am so disappointed with Retails reporting. We used onsite for 15 years and at the end of each day my store manager sends a very concise Sales report by Supplier and by Description (Vendor/Line) . This basic report drives my business. In a few seconds I can see very clearly what has happened in store for the day. It is essential for re-ordering and drives future purchasing (you can run the report for the whole season and filter by Supplier). To get the same information from Retail I would need to do a seperate report from each vendor. Thats up to 30 reports per store every day!!! Please tell me there is an easier way? I feel like I am driving a car without a windscreen, a speedometer or a fuel gauge? I cant see a thing. If you cough up the extra dollars does Analytics give the car a windscreen so that you can see? I'd love a solution.
Underwhelmed by Retail v OnSite
I was such a light speed fan - I’ve had on site for almost 15 years. I loved the product. I referred so many of my friends and business colleagues to the product.
Blindly I switched to retail.
What a massive disappointment.
This work flow of this system (especially purchasing and inventory management) is so clumsy.
I know I’m still new to retail but I was able to learn on-site within minutes (as was my staff) it was so intuitive.
Another disappointment is the retail reporting features (its terribly basic in comparison to on-site). We had a custom report that told me the daily sales by supplier and by item description. We used this daily report to drive purchasing. It’s such a basic business need but this is overlooked by Retail.
The migration process has also been messed up by Doosync. Our POs don’t include a cost price because our products don’t have Vendor ID so we need to manually adjust this on thousands of products. My old sales data is yet to be migrated across from On Site and the communication with Doosync has been none existent so I don’t know what is still being added.
All in all - I say bring back ON SITE please.
Re: Major Deficiencies as OnSite Customer migrating to Retail
I would just like to join in the list of dissappointed guinea pigs , this has been a disaster , the migration and ensuing errors cost me business and money. I have used it now for a couple of months and it just isn't fit for purpose . the transisito took 4 months for me and at no poitn was I warned that it has considerably less fuctionality than Onsite.
Can't edit a finished sale !!!!!
no invoicing , no way of tracking or listing unpaid invoices
I was told it intergrates more completely with Ecom than onsite it doesn't it intergrates less (I now need to do 2 different spreadsheets and imports to batch add new products)
no quanitity discounts
no packing slips
no way of tracking backorders
no way of reserving stock
No curriences
clunky adding photos , clunky POS app , generally clunky
COMPLETELY COUNTER INTUITIVE , Staff hate it,
LAbel printing ...it's all been said before
everything takes so much longer,
inventory counts are good but that's it.
I'll give it 6 months and then I'll need to find a new POS system
Onsite/Ecom made my business , Retail is dragging it backwards.
