Selling by weight

We are a natural market & sell many bulk items by the pound & sell less than a pound (bulk spices, candy, beeswax, fruit).  Unfortunately Lightspeed does not have a way to do this, how do you work around?
Both of our former POS systems we used allowed us to sell per pound, even one not meant for grocery stores!

Create a non inventory item for the item, the price should be the 'per pound' price. When you add the qty, it will calculate the end price. Keep in mind that LS retail does not support decimals, so you would have to use whole numbers

This is also a problem for us selling cheese by the pound. Not sure why fractional values should not be allowed. Integer's aren't cutting it.

As @InfuseIT mentioned you can setup a weight unit and sell per this unit, this can be pounds, ounces or grams.
Playing around with a Matrix setup in combination with Boxed items should give you the option to sell items by weight.

I guess I am switching my scales to grams so I only use whole numbers.
