I'm in the process of migrating from Onsite to Retail and curious about gift cards.
With OnSite, I could generate my own gift card barcodes which worked well and enabled me to either print and attach to a certificate (if they wanted a hard copy) or email to a customer (mine and most of my customers preferred method). I'm reading the Retail documentation on gift cards and am understanding it that I have to purchase plastic cards first. Is this correct? I would much prefer to continue being able to email gift vouchers and definitely do not want to have to buy plastic cards as this does not align with the industry I am in.
