Main Page Layout - list the forum sub-groups line by line with # of new posts

It's weird now where it shows General Posts, you click on that and then it goes to the page with the 8 boxes of forum subjects, with no info on new posts etc. So you have to click another level deeper.

Just keep it simple, like most forums are laid out.. have a list of the Subjects/Topics on the main page so:

Onsite New posts
- General Discussion 3
- Inventory 0
- SRO
- Orders
- Troubleshooting
etc etc

Retail
- General Discussion
- Inventory

etc etc etc..

No need to re-invent forums - there are lots of great examples out there, use what works and keep it simple.

I agree with Tony, the more clicks it takes to see posts, the less I will look at. I think the split at the top level by product is good, as a lot of people will only use one LS product. But show the sub forums so you can jump in right away. (eg. http://www.howardforums.com/forum.php)

Thanks for the feedback @TonyDehnke @bertigroup , that's helpful input!

I've made some changes to the product discussion layout, removing the category nesting of the General Discussion tree to display the list of topics at the top level of the product, so you can jump right into the conversation.
