Lightspeed Payments doesn't allow manual refunds

We were live for 4 days processing before having payments go down in the middle of processing on Saturday(over an hour. We saved everything into the system, processed all the sales afterwards, but couldn't process any refunds. The only answer we got was its unavailable with lightspeed payments. Its basic missing functions like this that make me wonder about the retail experience inside Lightspeed.

    Did this get resolved? I am considering switching to LS Payments but the ability to process manual refunds is necessary in our business.

    Hey @DCHSCampusStore

    Currently, Manual entry refunds not possible with LSPAY.

    Although, unreferenced refunds to a present credit card are possible if Allow Credits is enabled, for LSPAY US merchants.

    It is correct that Lightspeed Payments does not allow for keyed in transactions. This is in accordance with industry standards, in order to protect your business. However, it is possible to process refunds, when your customer's card is not available. Within a reasonable time frame, it is possible to do what is called a refund by reference: thereby returning the payment to the card, from which it was initially taken.
