API not working + how to reset password

Dear LS team,

As we tried to contact the regular LS team about our API issues they were not able to help us and told us we could solely ask our questions here.

We are working with a party that needs our API information to sell our items through another platform, for the past 2 weeks something changed and now they are not able to access it.

A third party is trying getting our stock information through https://api.merchantos.com/API/Account/144192/Item.json

But they firstly need our log in and password to access though these are not the same as our regular log in information on Lightspeed. Where can we reset our password for this?

They also need a token but we have no idea where to get it, please provide this.

Kindly respond asap as we have been dealing with this situation for 2 weeks and we need to get the system up and running to not miss out on more revenue.

    Hi @Megusta,

    Thank you for contacting us.

    You are saying that your third party needs your API information, they can request this information by going to https://developers.lightspeedhq.com/retail/authentication/authentication-overview/ and follow these steps.

    They cannot log in to the link you've sent, this is just the endpoint and not something where you can log in. As a merchant you'll need to create an account for them to login, you can do this is your retail back office when you go to Setting->Employee setup and then in the top right you'll see New Employee. Here you can create an account for them with a password. Based on what the application is doing you can give them rights.

    After the authorization they need to create the token. But this is all written in our documentation.
