"Other Payment Types"

pmjpmj Member Posts: 12

I have LS Payments as the primary payment gateway for our business. We have financing options available to customers, basically these are the third party financing companies that offer customers 1 year financing without interest. When customer's use these transactions, we receive an approval / reference code.

I've set up a payment type to reflect this payment option. There does not appear to be a field that is created for reference numbers. This is the same for payment by cheque, where is the reference number. Its not uncommon to receive money order or personal cheques. In LS Onsite, we could enter reference numbers. Where is that feature here? Its like one of the most basic functions of a POS system and I cannot find this feature in LS Retail.

    Hi @pmj ,

You could add a miscellaneous charge to the sale at 0$ with the reference number as the name of the product.

Otherwise, you could create a non-inventory item in the software called Reference number:, setting it at 0$ price and adding it to the sale, then click the description name of the product during the sale and adding the number provided.

Let me know if you'd like steps for this!

Thank you for the work around. The problem is that using LS Retail requires way tooooooo many workarounds. Its a standard practice in business to assign reference numbers to transactions. We even do it for cheque numbers. There are also alternative payment methods for finance. I use LS Payments so its not like I am trying to avoid that service. Its just poor design. I hope the developers correct.

    Hi @pmj ,

We understand and see where this would be useful. I'll add it to the list of requested feature enhancements for our development team's roadmap!

Thank you for your feedback <3

Hey @pmj, how has this work around been working for you? I'm facing the same conundrum.

We ended up keeping our Moneris account and only using the LS payment terminal when we work with customers in one exact location in the store. I am extremely disappointed by LS support/payments team in this regard. I refuse to give my staff a stack of work arounds - its tough enough using LS Retail and all of its quirks (just read the forums) !

I mean, I raised this and other concerns almost 9 months ago and there has been absolutely no resolution to any of the concerns. It is a trend with other LS users - we are on our own really.
