Scheduled Sale/Discount

Why is there no way to schedule an applicable discount. Example Black friday weekend I want a bunch items to have a new price but for this weekend only. When you have a store that is 40sq feet and 20,000 items, Price rules don't work as well as you have to remember to delete them but if you want to queue them for upcoming events or sale weekends there should be date function associated.

In general, promotion functionality is weak in Lightspeed Retail.
You can set a start and stop date for Price Rule changes - make sure you uncheck the Always On option and the dates will appear.
What we have done is created a Price Level called Promotion. We manage that price manually or with API calls, and then we can turn it on and off with Price Rules. Of course, if you are an omni customer that doesn't change the prices on your website, so you have to deal with that. We do a lot of "In Store Only" or "Online Only" promotions just because lacking functionality.
We also do a lot of category or brand sales because that is one of the few pieces of promotion functionality we have in Lightspeed - All Pinot Noir 10% off, etc.
Thanks for the help
