Creating a part with null cost

NewNew Member Posts: 2

We have some parts with zero cost (eg. Leftover items) which we sold to customers.

They are not part of inventory hence can’t bring the part number up. However, the item needs to be listed on the customer invoice with a sales price.

How do you set up a generic part number with an option for description to be overwritten with not triggering cost of sales?

Much appreciated

    Hey @New ,

For this, I'd suggest creating an item with a generic description, like : Part No. while leaving the cost and price value blank.

Doing so will automatically open the item modification in blue during your sale and you'll be able to associate a price.

From the same item modification page during your sale, you can add a note to the product description to complete its name.

When you save it'll appear like this.

    Hope this helps!
