Lightspeed,

The average Merchant on this platform has to put up with a huge amount of issues due to ignorance that the ecom system and its CA / USA Origins. Now in the latest move the new Tax you started to charge all our customers.

When did you do this / and why?

BREXIT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH UK DOMESTIC SALES!!!!!!!

Now all non-vat registered merchants are breaking UK law!

Legally, you’re not permitted to charge VAT to customers before you’ve registered for VAT. Paragraph 2 from Schedule 41 of the Finance Act in 2008 states that the penalty for charging VAT when not registered can be up to 100% of the VAT on the invoice.

We are NOT VAT Registered and currently are charging all of our customer's VAT even from within the UK for orders under £135 in value.

You turned this on with 0 warning and we need it disabled urgently, please.
