Cross-platform gift cards

We need gift cards that work for both Lightspeed Retail and Lightspeed Restaurant. It's hard to believe that functionality isn't built into Lightspeed. You integrate with Worldpay for credit card processing. Why don't you integrate with their gift card platform?

    I have the same issue, we moved from Onsite to Retail and none of the Gift Cards that were created in Onsite, are not recognised when the are scanned on Retail.

    Also, Onsite would print a gift card barcode on to a label for us, which is now not available on Retail.

    Instead we have been advised that we need to do the following:

    Visit : https://www.lightspeedhq.com/resources/retail/barcode-generator-app/#

    Type in a barcode number and click 'Generate Barcode'. This then opens up in a separate browser window from where you can 'print' it off.

    This is a very clunky way of producing barcodes for gift cards - does anyone know of another way - or will Lightspeed recreate this functionality on Retail?

    Does Lightspeed not have a way to import gift card numbers and balances from Onsite to Retail? If not, that's insane.

    My situation is a little different. I need gift cards sold in Retail to be redeemable in Restaurant. (and vice-versa)

    Hey @BenV,


    Regarding the compatibility betwen the Retail and Resto gift cards, there is an integration that a lot of our Chronogolf customers use called LoyalAction Gift Cards since it works accross the Retail and Resto platforms.


    Otherwise, there's a formatting (EAN-13 or UPC-A) in retail that needs to be respected when creating gift cards, however there is no official format required in the Resto services, meaning you could create the gift card numbers based on the Retail Requirements and input the same number in the Resto side. However, the two won't communicate natively since they are seperate softwares.
