Adding serial numbers to products with zero stock level...

So I am able to add serial numbers to products with zero stock level.

How and why is this possible?

We are a gun shop so obviously serial numbers are pretty important.

    Hey @Shootersshed ,

This is because serial numbers aren't linked to the Quantity on Hand of an item since you can also create a Non-Inventory product and mark them as serialized.

The serial number is intended to be associated with customers and (of course) an item, but not necessarily the quantity.

If you like, I could always put in an enhancement request.

    A serial number to a non-inventory item?? That's a super weird scenario.

A serial should only be attached to the item, not the customer at all.

The serial stays always with the item. The serialised item can then go to a customer.
