App pricing guidelines

Are there any pricing guidelines for app makers who use the app store ?

It seems that a lot of them are extremely expensive compared to the market (500% +). It actually makes Lightspeed eCom look quite bad. I'm sure it turns off many potential users who sign up for a trial.

For instance, this app that allows you to set active dates for your slideshows (Homepage Slideshow Manager) costs 25$ per month! This kind of app is usually free everywhere and if it costs something, most people would expect such a feature to go for a 5-10$ one time fee.

Pricing guidelines would certainly help manage these kinds of ludicrous prices.

Hey, I agree- The apps are way over priced and half the time unnecesary - Take the Zendesk app for example £5 what does it do for that amount when you can paste the code into webextras yourseld in less than 30 secs.

Thanks you for flagging this issue. At Lightspeed we strive to offer a set of quality apps at competitive prices. App prices are determined by the app developer at their discretion, as we are not aware of the effort and amount of hours required for development, maintenance and updates of a specific application.
Some of the apps mentioned have been reduced in price and their features were updated recently. If you are comfortable with coding in the partner solutions yourself you are more than welcome to do so, however some of our clients need the help our partners provide by connecting to said services.
