Splitting Commission

We transitioned from Onsite to Retail.

With Onsite we had the option to split the commission between two employee and in Retail we don't have that option to split the commission.

Does Light Speed Retail plan on adding the commission split feature?

any progress on this? this seems like basic functionality that should be out of the box

As with so many things in Retail, we had to create a workaround. In this case it consisted of making a non-inventoried SKU for SPLIT SALES. That allows the operator to make a notation of who the other salesperson is. Reporting will at least flag those particular sales as requiring to be manually split. It's not automatic in terms of the amount tendered. But it's something at least. 😕

yes it's something... does the non-inventory item show up on the customer receipt? also since the items aren't correctly categorized in the "Sales - Line Employee" report it will require more work to reconcile. My workaround is to create fake salespeople to represent combinations of salespeople, for example "Jim/Tom Split". It doesn't scale very well but we only have a handful of sales associates.

Yeah the non-inventoried item would by default appear on the receipt. The hybrid salespeople sounds like a better workaround if there aren't a lot of associates.
