Remove "Tags" From Search Engines

Support pointed me here to answer this question.

Tag pages (example.com/tags/your-tag) create a tremendous amount of duplicate content and meta tags.

It seems that the solution is to hide these from the search engines, which there is an option for.

However, I can't verify what Lightspeed is actually doing to hide these from the search engines. There is no "noindex" in the robots meta tag, not in the HTTP response headers nor an exclusion in the robots.txt file

Does anyone have any insight?

For anyone else that wants block /tags/ pages from search engines, this is probably the better approach. I don't think the button above does anything.

    Under Settings - Web Extras - Robots.txt
