API-Integration Restaurant

in Development
Hi Support Team,
for a university project I want to connect an online food order system with your system via API.
But if I want to create a test account, there is only the chance to do so for an ecommerce-solution. Do I have to sign up for the partner program or is there another opportunity to get access to the restaurant system. Because my goal is to insert orders from my app via API in the cash register system.
Thanks, Anton.

Hello,
The L-Series API is a closed API. If you want to develop an integration you can apply to become a partner here: https://www.lightspeedhq.com/partners/partner-application/
If you would like to develop a single location integration you need to reach out to your Lightspeed sales rep to see if you qualify. Access to the L-Series API is not guaranteed.
What you could do is create a Retail trial account as the Retail API is open:
Create test account: https://www.lightspeedhq.com/trial/?main-nav
Retail API: https://retail-support.lightspeedhq.com/hc/en-us/articles/229129268-Integrating-with-the-Lightspeed-Retail-API

Thanks for the reply,
so If I want to integrate the API for a restaurant, whether for one location system or multiple location I have to become a partner?
Greetings Anton
You can become a partner or purchase an account and talk to your sales representative to see if you can qualify for API access.
