Product Image Size limit
Can someone please explain the reason for the 650 x 650 px recommended image size when setting up products and matrices in LS Retail? The whole reason we want to add images to our products as we build our inventory is so that they can be pushed out to the eventual e-commerce platform we integrate with. We have not yet settled on which platform, but all of them recommend a minimum image size of 800 x 800 or 1000 x 1000 pixels, and for the "zoom" feature in many cases they are recommending 2000 px or higher. I have confirmed I can upload higher image sizes than 650 px into LS Retail, but I don't know if this will have some kind of negative effect down the road if we do this for all our products - even being mindful of file size and image optimization. Can someone please explain why I shouldn't upload larger than 650 px size images into LS Retail? Even the Lightspeed eCOM platform, one of our options under consideration, accepts larger size images.
