Acceptable Use Policy

The purpose of the Community Forum is to encourage Lightspeed customers and partners to exchange ideas, tips, information, and techniques on Lightspeed products and related hardware. To make this forum as useful and enjoyable as possible, we ask that all users respect the guidelines for online behavior described below. By using the Community Forum, you agree to comply with the following guidelines.

Keep it on topic.

For the benefit of all users, please stay on topic.

The Community Forum is a platform where Lightspeed customers and partners can help each other in using Lightspeed products and related hardware. With this in mind, please refrain from sharing personal matters, shaming another company, user or product, and from posting content that isn’t relevant to the resolution of the thread in question.

While Lightspeed moderators may post and reply to threads within the forum, it isn’t the primary channel to get assistance directly from Lightspeed. Users seeking advice directly from Lightspeed must contact Support.

Keep it courteous.

To ensure that all users have a positive experience while using the forum, please refrain from posting anything unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to others. Personal attacks and harassment – either publicly on the forum or through private message – are not acceptable. Lightspeed and assigned forum moderators have the right to ban users regarded as repeat offenders.

Keep it spam-free.

The Community Forum is provided as a service to Lightspeed customers and partners. It is not intended for the promotion of third party services, products, websites or organizations. Please refrain from posting content that would be regarded as advertising, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation.

Keep it legal.

It is unacceptable to post any material that infringes on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party, that contains software viruses or any other computer code or files that are designed to disrupt, damage or limit the functioning of any software or hardware, or that is considered illegal by any local, state, federal or international law.

Be careful.

Keep in mind that you are responsible for deciding to follow or ignore other users’ advice. Users might recommend a solution that goes beyond the services that our support team is able to offer, and in that case, Lightspeed might not be able to help solve the issue.

If another user asks you for personal information, such as an account number, address, password or credit card number, do not provide it.

Lightspeed retains the right to remove content and limit users' access.

Lightspeed and assigned community moderators retain the right, at their sole discretion, to limit users' access to the forum and remove material that does not comply with the present guidelines or that is considered inappropriate, harmful, objectionable or inaccurate. Lightspeed is not responsible for any failure or delay in removing such material.

We hope you will take advantage of this forum, and it’ll benefit you and your business.
