1% Opt Out Donation

We are looking to start an opt out donation program and it seems that we can't add this to Lightspeed while other POS systems can.
We'd like to include a line item that adds 1% of the gross sales to the total. We would also add on the receipt that a voluntary 1% donation has been made.
This is a common way for businesses to support non profits and help fundraise.
Is this possible?

Adding a 1% opt out donation on to the pre tax total? Can you do this via an additional tax line?

We don't presently have a native functionality to be able to handle percentage increases for donation but you could use a custom menu linked to an app to accomplish this. Our integration partners would be able to assist you with this is this is something that is of interest to you?

This sounds promising as far as being able to implement our 1% program but also sounds like a lot of hurdles to jump through. I'd be happy to talk to someone about it.
