Creating Duplicate Quotes

When working on a quote and a customer changes their mind about a project or sale and you want to change a few items but want to keep the past quote as a record of what was previously quoted and or you want create a duplicate and change only a few items.


This leads into the next conundrum. Being able to move items up and down in the the sale so that it is more organized.


If you have used the Server based system of LightSpeed this might sound familiar.

    Your request is entirely valid and though it isn’t how out system is currently designed I will go ahead and submit that feature request for you. If you would like to do it yourself, you can always visit our Ideas page


    We have implemented a process called Lightspeed Ideas which allows users to make suggestions directly to our Product Management team. We always like to hear from Lightspeed users as they you are directly impacted by Lightspeed’s features and workflows, and have a great perspective on how to improve them as well as indicating which features may be beneficial in the future.


    To submit your Idea:

    1. Go to help and click on suggestions and ideas

    2. Start typing your idea for Lightspeed. (Please keep ideas to one topic at a time so that we may promote discussion around this idea and update the status accordingly.)

    3. If your idea has already been posted by another user, it will display for you to add your vote against it.

    4. If your idea has not already been posted, you will be able to click ‘Post a New Idea’ and provide details and a workflow in which your idea may be used within Lightspeed. Other users will also be able to discus the idea with you and how it may be used in their business.


    Ideas will have their statues updated once they are being reviewed, planned or completed.


    We strive to make Lightspeed the most intuitive and useful POS platform available, and we thank you for your participation in the improvement of the software. Many factors contribute to the evolution of Lightspeed, and the input of our users is among the most important.

    Any update to this? Duplicate quote is something we would literally use EVERY day if it was possible.

    Customer feature enhancement can take time to implement as our development team has various priorities depending on what's already on the roadmap and things, like this, who are requested for adding onto the roadmap.



    We can guarantee that the feature was noted but we won't be made aware of the status of this until it's almost ready to go to market. This is normal and can sometimes be frustrating but we want to be sure that the timeline offered to customers won't be changed due to an unforeseen blip that needs fixing.

    Sorry to tag along to an older discussion thread, but the Ideas site appears to have been taken down.

    https://ideas.lightspeedretail.com/ comes back with a HTTP 404 error. Is this temporary or has the site been decommissioned?

    You're correct. It was taken down and we're currently working on noting all feature enhancements to put on an internalized intake system while we adjust to make things more inclusive for our customers.

    Hmm...I must say that is a bit of a concern. This site was the one and only place where both fixes and enhancements could be reviewed. Popular voted ideas displayed their status (e.g. - on roadmap, in development, etc.). Keeping all of this insulated from the customer base doesn't bode well. Not to mention I don't recall getting a formal announcement e-mail or anything, although I had ideas and voted ideas that were somewhere in the cycle...
