Inventory Transfers

I have multiple stores + a warehouse, transfers are becoming a huge issue.  It would be wonderful if a Vendor ID, Custom Sku, or Manufacturer Sku column was added.

Also there is NO warning if more items are received than expected and Lightseed will auto-correct any additional items that are scanned in.  This is a nightmare and horrible for proper inventory management.

Hey @joebinno, with custom development, the Custom Sku and or Manufacturer sku can be added to the transfer template.

Our development team is working on revamping how inventory functions and I believe you'll find it quite helpful :)

@Adrian_Samuel, what about received overages ?  There are times we transfer 100+ sku's, 400+ pieces.  If "Store B" requests "Store A" send 2 pieces of Item X, and a mistake is made where "Store B" receives 3 pieces of Item X, LightSpeed does not notify nor does it allow received overages.  Transfers will auto adjust any overages down to the number in transit, i.e. 2 pieces of Item X are in transit, 3 pieces of Item X are scanned received by Store B, Lightspeed without notification auto adjusts Item X to reflect only 2 pieces received.  Without knowledge or notification of this to the receiver, 3 pieces of Item X are placed on the sales floor.  We are left to physically double or triple count transfers, equaling employee time and waste.

@joebinno Thank you for detailing the issue! I've spent some time looking into this.
In your ideal world you would need the system to adjust to account for overages by adjusting the amount requested to the amount received.

Whilst we explore this with our product team, you may want to explore third party web development to enhance the experience you are having by exploring apps that will notify you of such auto-adjustments by changing the user-interface.

we also run multiple stores and it seems not even a basic report is available to see basic header information regarding one ore more transfers. ie ( who received transfer, any variant issues on receiving short/over) and sadly no automated notification to sending store, or inventory manager of transfer dependencies. And I thought Lightspeed was for POS inventory management, reporting etc.

We, too, have multiple stores transferring significant numbers of products often. We must have a way to quickly add items to an transfer like we do in Purchase orders. We need to be able to import a list of items and quantity transferred. It could be a simple csv with SKU and quantity.

This would save countless, mind-numbing hours of copying and pasting from a spreadsheet. It is so bad we are actively seeking an alternative to LSHQ.
