Lightspeed provides the Community Forums as a service to its customers and partners, to help them exchange ideas, tips, information, and techniques related to Lightspeed products and their related hardware. The community is most valuable when everyone obeys certain basic guidelines and rules for online behaviour. These guidelines and rules are presented here so that you know what is expected of you and what you can expect from other participants when using the Community Forums. By choosing to register and/or post using a registered username, you are agreeing to follow the guidelines laid out on this page.
For the benefit of all users, please stay on topic.
The Community Forums are in place to provide a place for customers and resellers to help each other. While Lightspeed moderators may post and reply to threads within the Community Forum, these forums are not deemed the primary channel for obtaining assistance directly from Lightspeed. Users seeking advice directly from Lightspeed must contact Support.
The Community Forums are provided for the purpose of making it possible for Lightspeed users, customers and resellers to help each other in using Lightspeed products and services, and a space to discuss business-related topics. Please refrain from discussing personal matters, abusing any company, other user or product, or, in general, from posting in a manner unrelated to the direct resolution of the thread in question.
We strive to ensure that all Lightspeed Community Forum users have a positive experience while posting and viewing the Forums. Please make sure that you are not detracting from any other user's experience. In particular, please refrain from posting anything unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties. Your opinions will always be welcome, but personal attacks and harassment ("flaming") in either the Forums or through private messaging are not acceptable. Forum moderators retain the right to ban users deemed as repeat offenders.
This community is provided as a service to Lightspeed customers and resellers and is not intended for the promotion of third party services, products, websites, or organizations. Please refrain from posting content that would constitute advertising, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation.
Keep it legal It is unacceptable to post any material that would infringe on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party, that contains software viruses or any other computer code or files that are designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software or hardware, or that is deemed to be illegal by any local, state, federal, or international law.
Most people are happy to help out on these Forums, but remember that their advice is theirs only and that you are responsible for deciding whether or not to follow it. Many posts offering advice may be providing a resolution that is outside the scope of Lightspeeds Support or intended use and therefore may not entitle the implementer for support via first party Lightspeed Support. If any user asks you for personal information, such as an account number, address, password or credit card number, do not provide it.
Lightspeed retains the right to remove content and limit users' access.
Lightspeed may monitor content posted by participants in its Community Forums. Lightspeed also retains the right, at its sole discretion, to limit users' access to the Community Forums and to remove material that, in Lightspeed's sole judgment, does not comply with the present Usage Guidelines or that is otherwise inappropriate for these Forums, harmful, objectionable, or inaccurate.
Lightspeed also retains the right to assign such right to some members of the community. Lightspeed is not responsible for any failure or delay in removing such material.
Moderators may take any action they deem necessary in their own judgment to support the Usage Guidelines and, in general, that can detract from the experience of other users or the purpose of the support community. Such actions may include editing or deleting material and banning individual users.
We hope you enjoy the space and that it proves helpful to you and your business.
